Sending Your Files
When you supply material on disks to output, please supply only files relevant to the job. Remove all other files. If this is not possible, put all files not relevant in one folder clearly marked.
Please put all files required to output a particular job in one folder. Do not use separate folders for graphics. The reason for this is that when you copy the job from your computer to your removable disk, you break the link established between your layout file and associated graphic files. If these elements are in different folders, we have to re-establish those links. If those links are in a number of separate folders, and if there are files on the disk that are not relevant to the job, this can be a time consuming process and create a possibility of errors.
We support the following native software formats:
- Microsoft Word
- Photoshop
- Adobe Pagemaker
- Adobe Illustrator

The advantage of sending a native file is that it can be edited for our end if there are any changes or problems with the file. We can also do the positioning or imposition if it is a multi-page document of some kind Again when supplying a native file ensure all fonts, graphics and linked items are included when the file is sent.
When supplying digital files please provide:
- Fax or send hard copy printout of the file

- What format the file was saved in
- List of fonts used in the document
- List of any linked graphic files
- Name and phone number of contact person
Jobs can be transferred to us by any of the following methods:
Email: Using email to transfer your files is probably the fastest and easiest method. We strongly recommend you compress your files. Use a compression program like Winzip for PC’s or Stuffit for MAC. Note; if your file is larger than 4 MB after compression, please do not send it by email. Contact us at 807-223-5553 ext. 2443 and we will assist you with using the FTP site transfer.
Disk/CD-Rom/USB: We also accept floppy disks, CD-Rom files and USB flash discs/drives.
FTP File Transfer: Upload your files directly to our server. Transferring large files may take a few minutes. Our FTP site is http://printing.crescive.ca/ezupload/
The single most common problem when sending files are fonts. Please send fonts associated with your project to avoid any delays. If you do not send fonts we may have to substitute with our own version. This may or may not work. Fonts come in two formats: 1. True Type and 2. Postscript. Windows True Type/Open Type fonts – most fonts you will need to send will be True Type fonts. You can find these fonts in your \windows\system directory. They come in one part and have a .tff extension. The other type of font you may be using is knows as Open Type. It has a cross platform compatibility. Postscript fonts have a .pfm or .pfb extension. If you have Postscript fonts installed on your PC, thay can usually be found in the \psfonts and \psfonts\pfm directory on your hard drive. We would be pleased to walk you through this process.
